JOB OVERVIEW
Eataly Dallas’ Fresh Island features a variety of high-quality local and Italian products: delicious cheeses and cured meats, sustainably caught seafood, homemade pasta and carefully prepared meals. An Artisan provides outstanding guest service across the entire Fresh Island. Reports to the Salumi & Formaggi Manager and the Fresh Market Manager.
- Participates in the daily operations of the Fresh Island, working across the Salumi & Formaggi, Seafood and Gastronomia counters
- Assists guests with product selection and shares knowledge of products
- Prepares collateral, weighs, labels, packages and serves products in a timely manner
- Ensures counter and display refrigerators are neat and accurate as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low
- Merchandizes displays attractively
- Rotates products per First In First Out (FIFO) standards and separates allergens
- Complies with department policies and quality, health, safety and sanitation standards
- Operates a cash register and ensures accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ year of experience in food service
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility and ability to problem-solve
- Knowledge of and passion for cheese, fresh products and Italian food
- Basic math skills
- Basic knife skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register
- Food Handler’s License
