JOB OVERVIEW

The Communications and Public Relations Manager is responsible for the creation, organization and execution of an Eataly store’s internal and external communications strategies with the goal of acquiring more advanced recognition in the market, promoting products and establishing leadership throughout the restaurant and grocery/retail industry. Reports to the Marketing Manager.

  • Creates and executes full 360 Communications Plans for local and national initiatives tied to the marketing calendar of campaigns including earned/paid influencers, PR, social media, website, newsletter and community platforms
  • Establishes and executes PR strategy and pitches for creating a steady volume of media coverage to promote Eataly happenings and events, experts, restaurants, products and services
  • Develops and maintains relationships with media and influencer contacts within the local and regional lifestyle, news and restaurant industries
  • Plans and executes paid and earned influencer campaigns including outreach, management and reporting
  • Works together with the Corporate team and the Marketing Manager on the media buy strategy for the store including OOH, digital advertising on social media and additional paid opportunities
  • Collaborates with the Education and Events team to execute in-store public and private events, including any necessary press and social media coverage leading up to, during and following the events
  • Plans, produces and executes all store-related social media content to maintain an engaging Eataly brand across the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts: creates copy and images, manages a weekly editorial and social strategy that aligns with store and Corporate priorities
  • Manages WordPress website with regular happenings in the store aligned with store and Corporate priorities
  • Works with the Graphics Manager to craft weekly newsletters to various Eataly databases
  • Supports with fielding all charity and donation requests, and facilitates contributions
  • Creates and executes an ongoing community relations strategy, partnering with offices, associations and other local organizations
  • Manages guest feedback platforms such as OpenTable, Yelp and Google Business
  • Tracks local, regional and national restaurant and grocery/retail trends to provide insight to Marketing Manager and General Manager team on execution of initiatives
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications
  • 4+ years of progressively more responsible Communications, PR & Social Media experience
  • Solid knowledge of and contacts in the local restaurant and grocery/retail industry
  • Previous experience with the media landscape of traditional PR and advertising as well as earned and paid influencers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Community management and budgeting skills
  • Advanced understanding of social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Photography skills preferred
  • Fluency in Italian language preferred
