JOB OVERVIEW

The Category Manager, Dry Market is responsible for monitoring, contracting and analyzing the usage and sales of grocery and home & kitchen goods for Eataly’s locations. The Category Manager, Dry Market strategically plans and oversees Eataly’s product relationships and defines sales goals and objectives to maximize revenue and efficiency. Reports to the Director, Grocery.

 

  • Oversees the entire product life cycle, including but not limited to: procurement, production, inventory control, logistics and distribution
  • Liaises with the Product and Store Operations teams to ensure the buying, merchandising and sales processes are operating efficiently and effectively
  • Remains in constant communication with store managers and key corporate personnel in each department to always be aware of product needs and objectives
  • Monitors inventory by ensuring the product database, internal spreadsheets and category product spreadsheets are updated, organized and accurate
  • Partners with vendors to ensure accurate delivery dates and quantities as well as respect to all agreed terms
  • Manages stock level in the central warehouse and proposes actions to minimize overstock and waste
  • Analyzes merchandise sales performance and proposes merchandise presentation to meet objectives and marketing cadences
  • Analyzes category trends and competitive concerns including pricing, assortment and consumer trends
  • Supports and positively influences Product Team financial goals, product mix, business relationships and innovation needs
  • Provides significant operational support and presence in the stores
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree
  • 3 + years of progressively more responsible experience in buying, retail operations or related fields
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced MS Excel or similar database analysis software
  • Outstanding attention to detail and analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, motivation and team-building skills
  • Italian product knowledge preferred

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel up to 25% of the time to all Eataly North America locations
