Job Title: Receiver

Department: Warehouse

Job Purpose 

Responsible for the receipt and storage of all food items, retail merchandise and equipment received. Checks incoming merchandise against order sheets for accuracy in areas including, but not limited to: weight, quantity, order specifications.  Maintains inventory and delivery records for the warehouse and related areas.  Issues stored items to proper departmental personnel and keeps records of the release of those items.  Notes any and all discrepancies in the daily log immediately and informs supervisor.  Assists in stocking or transporting items to the proper location within the store.

As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, the Receiver is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer. 

Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities) Description 

• Receives all food, merchandise, supplies and materials.
• Ensures that all shipping invoices go to the receiving team.
• Checks incoming merchandise against order sheets for such items as weight count, quality and specifications
• Ensures items are received and stored at the proper temperatures.
• Maintains delivery and inventory records as prescribed by warehouse manager.
• Keeps all storage areas and inventory in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Issues stored items to authorized personnel.
• Maintains the overall security of the storage area by ensuring all areas are properly locked and protected.
• Receives all food, merchandise, supplies and materials.
• Receive product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy and noting discrepancies.

Minimum Qualifications 

• Prior experience with food items and warehousing techniques desirable. 
• High school diploma or equivalent desired. Should understand basic arithmetic relative to inventory value calculations.
• Must be capable of strenuous lifting and carrying activity for short periods of time (during deliveries). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds into storage bins or shelves.
• Reports to Warehouse Manager.
