JOB OVERVIEW

A Server coordinates the entire service station and communicates with front of the house and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Reports to the Restaurant Manager.

• Greets guests and presents them with the menu
• Informs guests of specials, menu changes, answers questions regarding food, beverages and allergies
• Interacts with guests, takes orders and serves food and beverages.
• Receives food and beverage orders from guests and relays to kitchen staff and bartender using a POS system
• Communicates with the hosts, table support team, kitchen staff and bartenders to coordinate stations
• Maintains the guest dining experience throughout the service
• Presents, open and pours wine and beer when serving guests
• Maintains full knowledge of the food and beverage menu
• Assists table support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
• Assists with cash register at counter-service restaurants
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of experience as a server in a high-volume environment or in an elevated dining restaurant
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in math and cash-handling skills
• Proficient knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
• Knowledge of the sequence of service and dining room procedures
• Passionate about and an understanding of Italian food, beverage, and culture

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds –
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Ability to use draughts, wine keys, cash registers/Point of Sales systems
