Fresh Pasta Maker

Department: Fresh Pasta
Store Location: Flatiron - NYC

Job Purpose 

As an ambassador of Eataly, the Pasta Maker will be responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. The Pasta Maker will be passionate about continuously learning about and producing quality products. 

The Pasta Maker will be responsible for producing batches of fresh pasta on a daily basis to supply Eataly’s Fresh Pasta counter and restaurants. The ideal Pasta Maker will ensure products meet Eataly’s high quality standards and must be able to multitask in a high volume, fast-paced environment.  

The Pasta Maker will adhere to all company and department procedures, policies, expectations and quality standards.

Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities) 


1.Makes different pastas as per Eataly’s recipes and standards

2.Experiments with new pastas to be sold in the store under the direction of the Pasta Manager

3.Advises customers on their pasta choices. Provides educational information about pasta

4.Weighs and packages pasta as needed

5.Checks products and adjusts methods to achieve high quality pasta

6.Maintains a clean and sanitary work area that meets Department of Health standards

7.Ensures that all items are rotated by FIFO standards

8.Adheres to work schedule and arriving to work on time


Minimum Qualifications 

  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures, safety and sanitation regulations, and knowledge of food and food production
  • Must be able to follow recipes
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine or pasta making preferred
  • Must be able to taste food products such as meat, dairy and gluten


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Effort 

Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to eight hours in length and be able to bend and squat. Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight hours in length. Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Mental Effort 

Ability to follow recipes and communicate with employees, senior management and customers.

Tools or Equipment Used 

Commercial mixer, measuring tools, pasta cutting and shaping tools, scale

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Fresh Pasta Manager or Assistant Manager
