Job Purpose

Responsible for the production of bread in a 24 hour baking facility. Bakes bread in accordance with standard recipes. Ensures that the products produced in the bakery meet the quality standards established in conjunction with the Head Baker and Executive Chef. Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area.

As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, the Bread Baker is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer.

Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities) Description

1. Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.

2. Prepares breads, rolls, focaccia, and other bread items to be sold in the bakery and to be served in all restaurants.

3. Maintains a sanitary bakeshop that meets Department of Health standards.


Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of one year in a baker preparation position. Basic math and measuring skills required.

Training/Registration/
Licensure/Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable.

Physical Effort

Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, management and guests. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to six hours in length. Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc., up to 50 pounds in weight.

Mental Effort

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Tools or Equipment Used

Wood burning oven, commercial stand mixer, measuring tools, scale, baking pans, carts and racks

Reporting Relationships

Reports to Head Baker.
