Restaurant Floor Manager

JOB OVERVIEW

The Restaurant Floor Manager supports the Restaurant Assistant General Manager with the day-to-day operations of Eataly’s restaurants. The Lead is responsible for ensuring that activities are effectively coordinated and that exceptional service standards are consistently met. Reports to the Restaurant Assistant General Manager and oversees the restaurant support staff.

  • Provides a steady leadership presence on the floor, constantly interacting with guests, employees and vendors to ensure Eataly’s operations are running smoothly
  • Delegates job duties to employees as needed and assists with scheduling, training, motivation, disciplinary actions, coaching and counseling
  • Documents and resolves employee and guest incidents with the guidance of the Assistant General Manager
  • Inspects dining rooms and storage areas to ensure health and safety regulations are consistently met
  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and arranges for repairs, contracts and other services
  • Monitors inventory: receives and checks orders to ensure they adhere to specifications and distributes supplies
  • Estimates food and beverage costs to guarantee expenditures stay within budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of lead experience in food service
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a large team
  • Strong knowledge of the steps of service
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine and beverage preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours in length
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
