HR Generalist

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is a key member of the HR and Operations teams at Eataly, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's strategic vision and culture by anticipating/planning for, implementing, and evaluating People policies, programs, and practices. The HR Generalist represents HR to the teams in the store, focusing on ensuring a solid connection between the field and the corporate center.  Reports directly to the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).

  • Works with the HRBP to deploy a fully integrated People strategy from acquisition to exit; strong focus on Talent Management and Succession, with an eye for ensuring a deep bench for key, critical roles
  • Maintains organization staff (Corporate, Field) by helping execute against a regionalized recruiting, assessment, and interviewing program that ensures the right hire the first time; works directly with the Talent Acquisition Specialist on accuracy of candidate profile and selection; conducts and analyzes exit interviews to identify trends and opportunities; recommends changes and improvements to existing processes
  • Prepares employees for proper cultural assimilation from Day #1 by establishing and conducting orientation and onboarding programs
  • Works with managers to make coaching and development of employees a daily activity; develops and delivers foundational management training programs
  • Works with the HRBP in annual Merit Increase and Bonus programs, as well as other Reward & Recognition programs; drives awareness and adoption of broad Benefits offerings at Eataly
  • Serves as a fairness advocate, hearing and resolving employee grievances; counsels employees and supervisors
  • Helps deliver a company-wide “Training & Development” platform, which outlines base/foundational requirements, provides clear career progression and allows for opportunities to add and strengthen skills
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducts investigations; maintains records; represents the organization at hearings, if required
  • Supports the HRBP (and store) with strong metrics and data analysis; works with various Centers of Expertise to help define relevant measures, ensuring accuracy and timely deliver to key stakeholders in the store


  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of full cycle HR experience; previous experience in a multi-state/multi-facility business environment 
  • In-depth understanding of all components of the Human Resources offering, especially Training, Talent Management and Employee Relations; organized labor and/or union awareness experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of HR systems, databases and metrics; experience with metrics reporting preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently and resourcefully in a hands-on fluid environment; operational mindset
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Outstanding active listening skills; ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Fluency in Spanish
