Fresh Market Manager

Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Fresh Market Manager oversees the fresh departments: Cheese & Cured Meats, Fish & Meat, Bakery and Fresh Pasta. Reports to the Retail General Manager and oversees the fresh counter managers and staff.   

  • Organizes the store’s fresh counters to achieve objectives and maximize profitability
  • Manages team of fresh department heads: schedules, approves payroll, hires, trains, enforces customer service and quality standards, provides feedback, motivates and handles terminations
  • Analyzes finances and develops strategies to increase efficiencies and drive sales  
  • Transfers and orders products to maximize profit yield and reduce waste
  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and counters according to Department of Health standards, and arranges repairs, contracts and other services when needed
  • Documents, investigates and resolves employee and guest incidents
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills and experience purchasing and managing inventory
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Italian fresh products


  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and spend significant amounts of time walking or standing in a retail environment
  • Ability to operate equipment such as a slicer, pasta machine or cash register as needed
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Food Handler’s Certification
